About us

We are a reference company in the alimentary sector of deep-frozen. Through our flexibility and constant evolution, we assisted to the needs of the market, answering to the most demanding customers. Always with solid partnerships, we faced every day as an opportunity of improving our service - the one that if reflecte in the satisfaction of those that are ours guarantees of quality - the consumers. Our Services

Storage

Gelcampo has 5 conservation cameras with capacity for about 4000 pallets, in mobile shelf and in drive in shelf.

Both systems assure the integrity of each pallets and, together with the Warehouse Management System, they allow an effective management of the products, answering to the customers needs in terms of warranty of FEFO, FIFO, management for lots and/or for pallets and picking execution.

All the refrigerating equipments and acclimatized areas are controlled and monitored, in real time, through a Supervision System allowing to guarantee us the execution of the established temperatures for each refrigerating chamber or acclimatized area.

Packaging

The Gelcampo has 5 packing lines in formats from 250 g to 10 kg. These, in addition to the usual visual inspection, are equipped with metal detectors, encoders for automatic labeling of packaging and weighing means that allow an effective dosage.

Coupled with the know-how acquired over the years, the technology allows us to ensure compliance of the products with all legal requirements and specific of any quick-frozen food operator.

Due to our logistics system and the collaborators know-how we are capable to offer the following services:

Our history

  • 1996

    Fundation
    The IFT – Comércio Internacional Alimentar, Lda. – was born as a market solution in the commercialization of vegetables and potatoes deep-frozen on July 15 of 1996.
  • 1997

    Growth lever
    On this year, we welcomed a partner that spares presentations in the sector of the deep-frozen market: Manuel Carvalho, S.A..
  • 2003

    Recognition of Quality
    In the beginning of 2003 we obtained wanted approval in Quality, becoming in the first company 100% commercial, in our area of businesses, to be certified at our country by the norm ISO 9001:2000
  • 2004

    Strategic change
    With the focus on a sustainable growth, the IFT (commercial unit of the current group) acquired the manufacturing unit Gelcampo – Congelação de Produtos Hortícolas Lda., founded in 1984, in Murtosa.

    Expansion Dynamics
    While IFT/Gelcampo embrace the partnership with the Spanish Group Virto deep-frozen, internationally recognized as the exponent of the quest for primacy of technology and solutions for the most varied customers.

    New certification
    With pride, we received from the hands of the APCER certification on food safety through the obtaining of ISO 22000:2005.
  • 2009

    Towards internationalization
    In 2009 we made history by giving the first step towards a long-sought goal: Export.

    25 years of evolution
    In the year when we celebrate the silver anniversary of the Gelcampo, we renew the certification in quality and food security with zero non-conformances.

    New Horizons
    In order to solidify us in the framework of the international markets, we embrace the SIQIPME project with special focus on Brazil and PALOP.

    ISO 14001 and SA 8000 Certificacion
    Consolidating our social and environmental sustainability strategy, we managed with pride the universally recognized standards certification (Environment: ISO 14001 and Social Responsibility: SA 8000).
  • 2016

    FSSC 22000 Certificacion
    In the year in which the 20 year-old celebrates IFT couldn't hope to better present than a certification at the level of food safety, the standard FSSC 22000 (Food System Certification) that allows us to act in the most demanding markets and be players in reference our sector of activity.

    Portugal 2020
    Driven to another wide-ranging plan, still in 2016, we saw two projects approved at the level of qualification and internationalization, properly framed in Portugal 2020, working as catalysts.     IFS Certificacion
    The commitment and dedication of our entire team allowed achieving another certification to the level of safety and quality of food products and production processes, the IFS Food (International Feature Standards), which allows us to act in the markets more demanding and maintain the positioning of reference in our sector of activity.
